Hatfield - Gerry Louis Review
Apart from Abror, the staff at Nando's Hatfield are inept. We got a seat ourselves as no one came over to greet us. When the staff finally realised we had got our own table, they just whispered to themselves and stared at us. After ordering the food and it arriving they didn't even come to check on us.. is that how much they care about their customers?
My 1/4 chicken mango and lime with sweet mash arrived in 8 minutes which is a suitable time but whilst hot to touch, the mash was very watery and the chicken portion was really small. Small and light on flavour and the skin was very crispy.
I ordered the salted caramel brownie and vanilla ice cream and had a fun discussion with Abror about how the peri brownies were odd and we didn't understand it. He did ask me how i wanted the ice cream served with the brownie and just said how they normally do it. Having the waitress get the serving for me was a long and laborious process. She walked off with the receipt and took a colleague behind a wall (allowing customers to build up by the doorway). She placed the brownie on a plate then went to chat with another colleague. She then came back with what was probably the ice cream then decided to scoop it out on the counter whilst customers were waiting to order. Then there was another chat with a colleague before bringing the brownie and ice cream with a fork. Why have I been served dessert with a fork?
The branch was very nice what we did see of it and the toilets are very bright with mustard yellow and orange tiles. An orange trough under the sink with only one working tap. And the toilet on the left is hard to get into and close the door. I won't be going back there unless it's for a free meal.
