Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

This Nando's is easily found by following the signs to Clements Street car park. The car park/Virgin Active are virtually next to the Cineworld/Nando's - and parking is reasonable too: £1.20/2hrs, £2/3hrs, £2.50/4hrs and upwards from there.

The branch is deceptively big. As you enter, there are five two seater tables or so and then a selection of tables to the right. There are some booths towards the back by the toilets - which is where the branch then opens up more and there are some much larger booths here.

The fixtures and fittings are a bit old and the normal dark brown. The ceiling is made of one big long wood panelled wave from the front to the back. The lighting is made of spotlights and then some frilly white shades. The ceiling is pretty high so there are lots of very large canvas paintings... but, it is all let down by being dirty. It was like walking outside in Ilford but inside Nando's - chewing gum stuck on the floors, puddles of water/urine in the toilet, filthy cutlery (I mean caked in it) amongst other things...

Staff did everything as expected.

As there were about a third of tables in use it meant the food came in four minutes... and it pretty average. The chicken was well saucy on the outside, but pretty dry inside. The chips were hot and crispy and the rice was a bit dry. Average overall.

Oh, and the napkins are behind the till and handed out once you pay! There must be a real issue in Ilford!
