Ilford - Gerry Louis Review
I was ready to give this one an amazing review however what happened after eating my meal ruined it.
Got there just before five and the place was half full. The hot guy let me have table five near the counter, impressed I didn't need a menu and went straight to the till. The guy at the till asked me to wait for him to fill out paperwork so someone else had to come over whilst the queue built up. The manager then came out shouting "I'm sorry everyone" and I thought he was gonna close the place but he just wanted us to queue round the side... So full on for no reason.
Food turned up in about 6/7 minutes, was hot and great tasting. Only sweet mash, 1/4 chicken and a portion of halloumi this time but the meal was great. This restaurant is in two sections, booths and round tables at the front and other seats out the back before the toilets. There is a lot of art work scattered around, painting and sculptures and urns with plants.
The thing that ruined this experience was my visit to the toilets. Both were full but after one lady exited, I had a chance to use one. I came out and the same lady was still there in the way, drying her hands. Putting me at an awkward angle and having to wash my hands, the second door opened and it was the nandoca who had brought my food over.. Who then just walked out of the toilets! Now my first thought was "well I've already eaten so she can't serve me again". My second thought was "wtf tho, seriously?" If you re not going to wash your hands after using the toilet in a restaurant don't let the patrons see, dirty handed b****h.. I felt to tell the manager but seeing as I'd being doing the review, just thought to tell everyone else.. And yes I saw her serving more food after I left the loos...
Sorry Ilford for the expose but hygiene in a food establishment is an absolute must....
