In the bleak north winter among the shadow of derelict factories lies this bastion of warmth and life. Set in a complex close to Spinning Gate shopping centre it shares its massive 4 hours free car park with a Tescos extra and a Cineworld cinema. Whilst grey from the outside it is noticeable with its giant illuminated Barci on the exterior wall.

Inside it is bright, airy and cheery with booths and soft seating along the left wall, the serving hatch on the right and masses of seating in the middle. The Sauce and beverage station are in the back right hand corner but pretty much every table has the sauce rack on it, the first plate I took off the stack had dried on sauce so left it on side. Out side the back is a patio area and a long gazebo type structure which goes down the middle to help with those cold wet summers. This structure is mirrored in the store with a pretty canopy down the centre of the store. The decor is spot on in here with bead pictures, artwork and woven bowls along the back wall, a tiled Barci to the left of the serving hatch and many other features.

The toilets were compact (small) but were spotlessly clean and warm and welcoming thanks to the bright tiles. The bucket sinks were also novel.

The staff were amazingly friendly with being welcomed with a heart felt "Hiya, welcome to Nandos" and a bright smile. All the staff were welcoming and possibly one of the most friendly stores I have been to.

The chip portion was massive and well cooked and tasty crisp, the haloumi cheese cooked to perfection. The let down was the chicken, it was a good sized portion and the griller was stood by the grill awaiting my order so was very fast, unfortunately the chicken was burnt around the edges and this charcoal flavour permeated into the meat. The chicken was also missing a lot of its skin which seemed to have happened prior to cooking as there was the colour on the meat where skin should be.

My mum said it was the best Nandos she has been to and she loved the ambience of the store and the decoration, the staff are also the friendliest going, the only thing that let it down on our visit was the chicken being overcooked. Definitely in my top 5 of Nandos on everything apart from not burning the chicken.
