They had run out of a certain item. I won’t name it but it’s a fundamental of cooking and seasoning. I needed some for my chips but there was none in the entire restaurant (the reasons for which were explained to me and I perfectly understand). I have ASD, and amongst a plethora of other idiosyncrasies, eating my chips without said item, and it’s common or garden partner, is one of them.

I could feel myself panicking (yes I know it sounds ridiculous) over what I was going to do. The server said she’d come back in a few minutes to see what I’d decided to do. A few minutes after, the manager came over who’d been to the restaurant next door to borrow a singular portion of the items I needed to continue my meal. I was so relieved and grateful for such attentive service as large chains can often feel so impersonal. Thank you.
