Nottingham - Giltbrook - Marc Joss Review
A fabulous Nando's in Nottingham broke up the long drive from London to Newcastle and I was joined by 3 fellow gooners for what turned out to be an exceptional Nando's. We were the first people to enter the restaurant as the doors opened at 11.30 but by the time we left (12.45) the restaurant was almost full maybe because it was the sales or simply because it was a Saturday lunch time.
We put our orders through swiftly and the starters arrived instantly. Alex's actually got to the table before he did and the main courses arrived at the perfect time just a few minutes later. I shared a whole chicken with Mark and we both ordered large peri chips to go with it. The chicken was big, covered in sauce and delicious! Chips were covered in peri salt and my halloumi was great too. It has to be a 5 for speed of service and food!
As for the restaurant itself, there is a mix of colourful benches and comfortable chairs available and there are even a few tables available outside if the weather permits such behaviour. The décor is great with three columns in the central area, each of them is decorated like a spider web and some eye-catching art pieces line the walls, particularly above the drinks machine. You can tell this is a relatively new Nando's!
The staff were great too, one Nandoca even offered to fill up our drinks for us which was a lovely touch. Given there is free parking right outside and it's near the M1, this Nando's was ideal and as Arsenal won on Sunday too, this meal was part of a truly brilliant weekend and I fully recommend it!
