Oldham - Ryan Review
Stopped in at this Nando's before the drive back down the M6 and it was a nice visit! It's located on the Elk Mill Retail park, or "up on't Broadway" as the locals said :-) There are a few other eateries such as KFC and Pizza Hut and other large stores such as Argos, PC World and Boots. Hundreds of free parking spaces right outside. You're unlikely to get a space right outside Nando's as there's room for 15 cars or so, so park a 100 yards away outside DFS and walk.
This is a quite recent opening and it shows inside with some very nice decor. The back left wall has hundreds of little bright coloured prints, making a striking image and the ceiling lighting to your left is very unique. Looks like white netting on some coat hangers - but it is very nice! Mixture of booths and tables chairs to the left - and a party of 12 was seated together, so this branch can accommodate the larger groups easily. To the right is some more unusual lighting - that look like tuilps hanging right down from the ceiling. The right wall is kinda pebble dashed and has further interesting wall lighting - and there's also a large yellow canvas painting making it a little brighter too. The ceiling on the right of the branch is the familiar circular discs/grooves too. The toilets had some sculptures on the wall just before you enter them too and were also spotlessly clean. Very good decor.
I arrived at about 5:40pm and there was an abundance of staff on including a dedicated hostess who was very chatty as was the chap (Daniel) on the till. It was about half full, so no time to wait for a table or to order - and the food came in 8 minutes.
I had a chicken burger and chips and they were delicious. Hot crispy chips and a very good potion size - and a huge hot succulent breast fillet, smothered in marinade. Masses of lettuce and tomato too. Very good visit indeed.
