So I've always tried to get to Slough since I heard there was a 2nd Nando's opened up there. It wasn't too hard to find, I just walked down from the top ohe high street from the first exit of the Queensmere shopping centre until I found it.
Went in, and it took about 2 minutes for the staff member sorting through the menus to turn around and ask if I was eating in. I asked if table 3 was free as you can see the front row of tables from outside the glass front window. There are tables outside but it was kind of cold and a bit to exposed to all the evening shoppers. It was after 6pm but a lot of the shops are still open in Slough which must be great for the locals. There are 2 large parking areas as well as a National Rail station so this branch is easily accesible.
Anyway went to order my food and again it was 3 minutes waiting at the counter, there was no queue, for 2 staff members to stop their converation and serve me. The guy who opted to do so was brash and very abrupt, and loud which was unnecessary. Order taken, I asked to use the toilet. Yes it's down the corridor and up the stairs but I felt like I was going through the Crystal maze, the journey was never ending. In a way its great the restaurant is so far from the loos but very inconvenient.
The food arrived shortly after my adventure to the toilet. I did have some time to look at an amazing canvas on the wall of a group of people laughing about something and generally having fun. It's a great canvas that reflects what Nandon's is about.
Anyway the food was only okay. I had a huge portion of mash but that potato they used was not one of the best, there we're a few brown, hard bits and some chunky bits which I didn't like. The chicken was burnt and un-enjoyable as I wasn't able to get the full taste of the chicken or get any of the skin. Its also awful when you have that burnt taste in your mouth, it ruins a meal.
The locals must love this branch because the girls at the table next to me were still there half an hour after their plates had been taken away. Ok food, okay service, excellent location and you can see the hight street branch from here.
