Southend - Pompey Ranger Review
This store was nightmare to get to as was a sunny bank holiday Sunday and I spent 45 minutes in gridlock getting into Southend on sea as everyone from the whole of Essex seemed to trying to get to the seafront. Being in the town centre it wasn't so rammed, in fact I was surprised how quiet the street was outside.
Parking was also easy as whilst the small limited number of parking spaces outside were full I slipped into the Sainsburys over the road's car park which was about if Memory serves me correctly was £1.90 for 3 hours which you get back when you shop in the store. (check the pricing, but was good to get some cold bevies for the journey home after.)
They were certainly making an effort to get the custom in the store and had a staff member in the Barci outfit out in the boiling heat which I liked as a nice touch as very welcoming and I couldn't resist getting a photo with on the way in (I hope she had the version with the fan inside).
Inside at the back were some nice booths on a raised level, at the front tables and chairs with far too many crammed in so expect elbow bashing with neighbouring tables and also to struggle to squeeze through if at the back. The front looked a little shabby and not in the chic way either. The toilets upstairs were great, colourful, bright and airy.
The staff like I said were friendly. The houmous starter was the smallest measliest amount I have ever seen in a bowl! So disappointed with the starter! We also seemed to have a language barrier as my friend using one of my old reward cards to get me points ordered an extra meal off it that none of us wanted!!! but due to politeness (and the fact she had stamped over the reward so it was gone for ever anyway we took it and due to portion sizes it was quite handy to have it to share between us.
