Mediterranean salad with chicken hot
Soft drink
£10.25
PLACE: Table 17. This Nando's is on the ground floor of the O2 centre and ironically, I had no reception. The actual 'straunt is a deep, thin and high affair with shared tabling in the middle. Like the Westfield 'dos, there's sauces on most tables, which really liberates you from the post-payment ritual of sauce gatherment. The table I sat on was high and uncomfortable but I liked the feeling of overlooking the other diners. However, the best table in here is a giant, hollowed out, chandeliered barrel situated high up at the back of the dine floor, worth asking for- 7/10
SERVICE: Host- Maria was lovely if a little forgetful. She forgot to give me my glass, my companion's olives, my receipt and my loyalty card. I asked her whether going "hot" on a salad wise and she winked at me. I think this lovely lady has a penchant for the spicy life- 7/10
FOOD: I'm going to admit, I was a little nervous about ordering a salad in Nando's. Firstly because of the detrimental effect on my man-cred and secondly because eating out and having a meal that is bordering on healthy is always risky business. I'm of the belief that when you dine out, you need something a little on the unhealthy side to make it fully enjoyable. It turns out that this salad was actually nice, full of spice and cheese- lots of feta. I didn't realise 'dos stocked 3 different cheeses. I look forward to discovering the 4th. Overall, a lovely salad- 7/10
COMPANION: Dave from Plastic Horse is a vegetarian and I'm never too happy about recommending veggie options. He still took my advice and selected the almost-meat mushroom burger and PERi chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. He enjoyed sampling every sauce and actually agreed that the hot is actually the hottest- 8/10
