Vauxhall Arch - James RYN Review
Marc has already described the excellent decoration at this Nando's so I won't go into too much detail, but suffice to say, this Nando's is truly unique.
All the staff we encountered were really friendly especially the manager who came to chat with us for a while and made me feel very welcome. However, the ordering process was disastrous; resulting in food coming at different times. I'll forgive them since clearly paying with a combination of chicken cheque, gift card, and new electronic loyalty card is not a common occurrence, but speed still gets a 2 unfortunately. As for the food, rather unusually I opted for a double burger rather than a double wrap. I'm not sure why this was. On receiving my double burger, I immediately realised why this was not my usual order. The abundance of bread and lack of chilli jam was acutely noticeable, and the unchopped-up nature of the fillets reminded me of why I took issue with the burger as a menu item in the first place: they are simply much smaller than they used to be! Perhaps it is unfair to put the food down to a 3.5 as a result of this, but that's just the way it has to be.
Would I return to this Nando's? Given this Nando's proximity to the critically acclaimed Clink Street restaurant, that is a difficult question. However, friendly staff and unique décor might just lure me back before I know it!
