Southbank - Clink Street

Visited Nandos clink street this evening with family and kids today. Everyone was friendly and had a big smile on their faces despite it being busy. Service was 10/10

After another 5 month break, we we’re back on the Nando's Trail for number 109 in London. This one was at the "London Bridge" restaurant at Clink Street, on the South Bank. I'd been here a few times before, but it was a while ago. Doesn't seem like much has changed though. As there were thirteen of us waiting in the pub opposite the Nando's, I popped in to let the manager know, asking how long it would be for a table/set of tables.

Ben the manager is an absolute credit to your company, his service is impeccable and I'm so grateful for the effort himself/his colleagues made to impress us, despite the restaurant being packed. For the sake of anybody reading, this really is a special Nandos. Thank you so much, I can't emphasise my gratitude enough!

Lovely decorations

This Nando's is located right on the river and we sat at a table by the window so we had great views. The gorgeous old building coupled with high ceilings and industrial chic decor really makes the experience feel more high end than in any other Nandos I've been to. I'm a vegetarian but I still love it here because of the various veggie burgers options and sides that I can choose from. I also love the unlimited diet coke. The sauces make the meal for me every time.

A couple of days after my first RYN's reviewers dinner I was back in London and back in Nandos, this time the Clink street branch at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. This branch is one of my favourites for the beautiful building and its decor, layout and wonderful Thames side views as the restaurant is right on the south bank of the river. I was here to meet a couple of friends after work for diner and a catch up.

Visited London for the day, and with the prospect of free chicken, a Nando's was scouted out. Visiting Tower Bridge, this seemed to be the closest along the route I was taking through the day.

I visited this branch twice in June in very different circumstances and both were absolutely perfect! The first visit was late on a Sunday night when the branch was maybe a quarter full when we arrived and we were the last to leave. Service was perfect (food beat me to the table) and portion sizes were huge.

The combination of a visit to this Nando's branch and then a cinema outing at the BFI round the corner is quickly becoming a ritual for me - we popped in here before going to see Mulholland Drive this week.

We were welcomed and shown to our table very quickly, and the guy who seated us was friendly and efficient. There was a children's birthday party going on, but he mercifully seated us across the dining area so we didn't hear more than the occasional squeal.

I gave this branch a bad review last time so I thought I better review it again since this visit was amazing. I managed to drag my girlfriend to the third branch in three days.

I love this branch, this was the third time I've been there, and the first branch I visited since moving to London, the location and design of the restaurant is just great, It's only a short walk from London Bridge station, along a few roads and alleyways.

It has big arches under the bridge with windows and lovely views over the river. The branch is pretty big so it's good that it has more than one drink machine and ice machine.

With regard to the decor I can only reinforce that which I said in my previous review. It is a cut above the usual Nando's! However, the whole visit was overshadowed by some rather unnecessary staff rudeness. When we got there we asked to be seated in one of the alcoves that overlook the Thames. The woman then rudely said 'No' and I looked at her rather shocked.
