Walsall - Marc Joss Review
After a successful reviewer dinner at Paradise Forum Nando's on Friday, it was time for a new Nando's (unrated at the time but now Ryan has addressed that issue) which coincided with my 100th Nando's visited. It sure did feel special after a nostalgic visit to the University of Birmingham and Selly Oak with James and Olive. The Nando's was easy enough to find in the Crown Wharf Shopping Centre but we were (as was Ryan) slightly confused to see you had to pay for parking. Not the end of the world of course as we parked just outside Nando's and made our way in. There is something I like about the leisure centre Nando's which stand on their own (Stevenage and Park Royal come to mind) and this is another example. On walking in, I was impressed by the wide range of lighting, colourful ceramic pieces and comfortable sofas; you could tell it was a new one!
The staff were extremely friendly and really went the extra mile to help out (we were even asked if we wanted our drinks refilled!); there was no doubt that they had the peri-peri passion. We went up to order almost straight away having been seated in the middle area of the restaurant on a funky, stripy sofa. Food took just over 10 minutes to arrive and it was great. I've had numerous breast pieces recently which have been missing the actual wing but not this time! It was all covered in sauce and there was plenty of chicken to attack. The only negative was that my halloumi cheese looked less appetising than normal, not that that affected the taste.
Great stuff overall and I'm sure I'll never forget my 100th Nando's!
