Durham - Elliott Waters Review
Nandos Durham was overall a pleasant experience. Having made it my mission to scout this one out, I was looking forward to visiting. Walked in, and was welcomed in open arms by the welcome host. The resturaunt is split on two levels, the ground, and first floor. I requested a table on the first floor, which they accommodated easily. I was given a table overlooking the resturaunt, which was great, especially if you like people watching like me! The decor is lovely, with some great Nandos murals on the walls.
Ordered my meal, and was advised by the helpful lady on the till that I had a red reward, and would be able to have my meal for free! Win! Thanks to this revelation, I splashed out and ordered a starter!
Food arrived within a reasonable time considering how busy the restaurant was. The starter was nice, warm pita and red pepper dip. The main meal arrived 15 mins after. It was OK, if not a little disappointing. My salad was a bit stale, mushy tomatoes no thanks. The rice quite hard, but the pita was good. My friends plain burger had reminants of medium spice on it from the grill, which wasn't good.
Overall a good visit, the atmosphere was good, especially with the Nandos music being rocked in the background.
This restaurant is quite hard to find if you use the Nandos finder. The postcode takes you to under a bridge, however the Nandos is in the precinct just north of this road, adjacent to a theatre and cinema. There are a number of other resturaunts and bars in the area, however, obviously, Nandos is the number 1 choice. Parking in the Prince Bishops shopping centre, or you can use the Park and Ride, which drops off right outside :)
