Newcastle - The Gate

Me and my friends has a great experience at the gate Nandos, we were greated by Paris who cleared a table straight away for us and was very polite when sitting us down, then our order was taken by a Paulina who was lovely and explained the menu to my friend who had never been to Nandos before. Our experience at Nandos was made 10 times better by these two lovely girls

A staff member called peter was extremely rude and horrible, we had come with another Nando’s staff member and he didn't not give us the discount but only the staff member. We then had received our food around 20 minutes later and i had asked for extra garlic aeoli and he was like no sorry we cannot give this out even though every other time they always gave me it , we even offered to pay and he was just being rude. I also asked for cloudy lemonade and he only filled my glass half way !!!

I ordered simply the four boneless chicken thighs while my friend bought the butterfly chicken with two sides. My friends meal came to the table where u was rudely left waiting while noones brought my food to the table. Then eventually someone asked if we were waiting on food, and then went to check on the food. He didn’t come back and tell me what was happening and I was left waiting while my friends food was getting cold in front of me.

Turned up at about 5pm, it was pretty busy but I guess it's what you'd expect for a Friday night! Service was very quick, we got seated straight away by a polite young girl. Ordered with no fuss. Appetisers had come by the time we got our drinks, cutlery and sauce, we were very surprised at how fast actually but hey I'm not complaining! I had the quinoa salad (my fave) and my boyfriend had 1/2 a chicken with double chips which he wolfed down extremely fast haha (must have been good).

My first visit to Newcastle city centre, and therefore a Nando's was in order!

I was having a birthday meal with my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal - Jay the waiter was great!

Situated in the middle of Newcastle's state-of-the-art entertainment venue The Gate, it is only a short walk away from the Central train station and Monument or Haymarket Metro stations. Empire Cinema is on the floor above, along with all sorts of other bars etc nearby.

Was up here with 5-6 others and popped in for a bite to eat before hitting the town. I mentioned RYN explicitly to the manager and told her I would be reviewing the meal and she assured me my party and I wouldn't be disappointed.

Stopped into The Gate for lunch at about 1:30pm on a Friday. The Gate is one of a few shopping centres around Newcastle City Centre - so plenty of stuff to see and do if you're in the area. There are plenty of car parks dotted around the centre too (The Gate also has its own car park at about £6 all day) - but on this occasion I caught the Metro in. Monument station leaves you a couple minutes walk away which is great.

Having tried to get a table for 2 on the Friday evening and being faced with a 25 minute wait, we opted to return on Saturday lunchtime which was a good decision as the wait for a table was just over 5 minutes.

This branch is located in the heart of Newcastle town centre and is within walking distance of St James' Park so for a pre/post-match meal, look no further!
